Savannah River Uchee/Uchean People Among the Earliest Documented Inhabitants of the Savannah River Valley
The Savannah River Uchee Uchean people are recognized in numerous historical records, colonial documents, and scholarly works as among the earliest documented Indigenous inhabitants of the Savannah River Valley, a region spanning present-day South Carolina and Georgia. "As a Savannah River Uchee, Lonzado A. Langley has dedicated years to preserving and sharing the history, identity, and enduring legacy of our people through genealogy, historical research, public education, and cultural preservation."
